Four Annual Summits  - Nov 2009 / Dec 2010 / 2011 /  2012

Foundation for the Study of Cycles Annual Firebird Summit 2009 -2012 promises to be one of the most exciting, provocative, and informative series that the
Foundation has ever developed in its 70 year history!

What you can expect to learn...

The purpose of any science is to validate reality.

To explain and validate or repudiate any reality of "prophecy" or "science" is the object of inquiry as the planet heads toward 2012 and beyond and to track how these scenarios play out.

We should be able to tell very quickly if we are on a road to a worst case, best case, middle case scenario, and assess any of these given potential changes we're seeing based on real-time cycles work.

"It's intriguing that the Foundation is investigating various types of cycles, and their sequences and synchronies, along with prophecies and predictions, using scientific methods and tools to validate, refute and harness such phenomena."...TRB

From our archives of decades of research and the predictive modeling software developed by the Foundation we can now discover and see ahead to what no one has yet discovered or seen.

As you will discover with us, change comes in cycles, and the future is here.

Among the data series we will be studying and tracking we are including, but are not limiting to: flu data, world militaries, world debt, crime statistics, education, health care, drugs and recovery, alcohol consumption and production, grains produced for alcohol consumption, environmental consumption, banking, monies invested, the dollar volume of global investments, who has and controls the money, Dow Jones Index, gold, Forex, commodities, and much, much more.

  • "There is a tide in the affairs of men. which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; omitted, all the voyage of their life Is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures."
  • ~ Julius Caesar Act 4, scene 3, 218–224

  • NASA- March 10, 2006: "It's official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are nonexistent. The sun is utterly quiet. Like the quiet before a storm. This week researchers announced that a storm is coming--the most intense solar maximum in fifty years." http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2006/10mar_stormwarning.htm
  • The Astrophysical Journal -March 5, 2009: "Sunspot activity is highly variable and challenging to forecast. Yet forecasts are important, since peak activity has profound effects on major geophysical phenomena including space weather (satellite drag, telecommunications outages) and has even been correlated speculatively with changes in global weather patterns...we forecast that cycle 24 will reach its maximum in December 2012..."http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0004-637X/693/2/1173
  • Foundation for the Study of Cycles - October 4, 2009: "When we began researching "2012" with our cycles software and correlating our solar flare predictions, we were interested. But when we found that other solar flare reports also point to December 2012 - the Mayan Calendar date - we became very interested."

  • In this seminar we are going to begin to learn how to think predictively, not prophetically, to learn to examine unfolding current physical events and prophecy in the light of our predictive abilities. We feel this has become vitally important due the confluence of cycles that our decades-old predictive science is showing us. We feel strongly that now it is important to understand where prophecy may be right on and where it may be totally off the mark as scientists and ancient writings agree in telling us that we are within the greatest change of an era. The "2012" specter looms before us. Is it doorway or doom? Or just another Hollywood movie?

         whose time has come".

The Foundation is proud to announce this series as a continuing part of the now famous Firebird Elite Lecture Series titled, "Beyond 2012: The Imperfect Storm?" Topics covered will include, but not be limited to: Prophecy, Prediction, Cycles, Nostradamus' work, 2012, the Mayan Calendar, Edgar Cayce's work, the Pyramids, Wealth & Money, Astrology, Solar Flares, Near Earth Objects, Governments, and, Cycle Synchronies.

  • "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."
  •     -Aldus Huxley

The Quatrains of Nostradamus with be examined in the context of modern cycle theory. In 1984 a book was published "Nostradamus: Key to the Future." This book was edited and co-authored by the Foundation's Research Director, Richard T. Mogey. Richard was commissioned for this project by one of his former employers who was one of the most active private gold traders at the time. This trader, who had an open and interested mind in methods of prediction, took an interest in Nostradamus' writings.

He took Richard off the gold desk for four months and had him working face to face with Renuncio Boscolo who to this day, is considered one of the world's foremost authorities on Nostradamus. Boscolo possessed an original 1569 edition of the 1558 work that was published by Nostradamus himself. Richard Mogey, who speaks both French and Italian, translated from the original French. Boscolo spoke both French and Italian and he gave his remarkable interpretations from the printed source. Richard Mogey has no doubt the Nostradamus's work has message of cycles within it. Hear the story from Mr. Mogey himself who worked from the very volume that may have had Nostradamus's fingerprints upon it, and messages about our future within it.

The emphasis of the Summits will be about the future, not just the financial future, which will of course be covered in great detail, both globally and regionally, but also the future of mankind on this planet, because, without a planet, there is no financial future, is there? On the Internet there is increasing buzz about 2012, the Mayan Calendar, approaching asteroids, and, the "end of the world". BUT...

How do the cycles of history relate to cycles of prophecy? What is the difference between prophecy and prediction? How would cycles impact employment or education if they were well known? Our models will go to 2037, the next 25 years, and beyond. We are going to look at the asset clock and more.

The seminar series is also to help us to prepare for the worst, though the worst usually never happens. Solar flares, geomagnetic storms, disturbances, what to do, what are the scenarios, where could we go if something were to happen?

Based on the overwhelming evidence on the Internet, the History Channel and other programs, popular books and more, there is an ever increasing interest in the concept of 2012, thanks to the phenomenon of the Mayan Calendar. Hardly anyone has not heard of the Mayan Calendar. We will examine these prophecies in light of the science of prediction, bearing in mind that prophecy could be rightly called the science of time.

The study of cycles is the science of prediction. We want to learn predictively, not prophetically. Prophecy implies some kind of a Divine connection, or channel from God, so to speak, whereas, the study of cycles is based on mathematics and computer programs. The derivation of cycles and the re-synthesis of cycles to predict the future, as studied at the Foundation for the Study of Cycles, enable us to give an objective viewpoint of "prophecies".

We do not wish to get involved in the controversy regarding different religions and their prophecies, but we feel these prophecies can be profitably examined in context of the science of prediction. In doing so, we may be able to discern which prophecies may be more likely than others to manifest in a given time frame. For example, hardly anyone will dispute that Nostradamus, in his writings, had predicted that there would be three anti-Christs.

As an example, practically speaking, it is obvious that there is hardly time for a third anti-Christ after Napoleon and Hitler before a coming "end of the world" in 2012. According to one view of Biblical prophecy, the anti- Christ is a man who creates a one world government, creates a one world currency, and basically takes over the entire planet as the third anti-Christ. We just don't see that happening in the next two years(?)

The science of prediction should be able to set a reality check on the world's prophecies that have been around for some time, up to hundreds, if not thousands of years.

The Mayan Calendar will also be examined in a way that will enable you to understand the workings of the Mayan system and why it will "end" in 2012!

The Purpose of the Seminar to enable each one of us to leave here with a new viewpoint and the ability to think in a predictive manner, and we plan on giving you tools to do just that. Do we discount prophecy? Far from it. We believe that because of the current conditions our science of prediction is showing us, there is a major web of confluences that indicate major changes may indeed be just around the corner.

What are those changes, and where are they most likely to manifest? That, we think, is the job of cycles study. So we want to leave prophecy to the prophets, but we also want to use our ability of prediction to gauge and grade the prophecies in the context of current and evolving conditions. We invite you to follow our thinking and follow our seminar and to take what you can from it.

Without a planet there can be no investing. The seminar will be broken into several, fractally related concepts. The concept of the Global, the concept of the National, the concept of the Regional, and the concept of the Individual. These overlaying areas are very similar to doing cycles analysis where you first look at the yearly cycles in context with the monthly cycles, in context with the weekly cycles, in context with the daily cycles.

In doing this seminar we will also examine some potentials for the Foundation and where we could be going in the next twenty or thirty years in a positive way. How do we apply the science of cycles, how do we apply this technology? What fields are most fertile for development?

In terms of social change we wish to examine some of the works that have already been published by members of our society, such as William Houston who visited us during our 1996 conference at which Lady Margaret Thatcher was our key speaker. In his 1997 book, "Through the Whirlwind" he describes the "Framework of Scenarios" in a thesis of events that are coming true now. He also noted that if we were to have a solar pulse that would knock out our computers and data services we would need to be prepared for this and consider what political changes would be mandated by various scenarios.

We will take an in-depth look at the potential of solar activity and we will also be talking about the astrophysics behind the potential for solar flares and their destructiveness if that happens. We'll be studying things on a scenario basis talking about potential scenarios from the best case to the worst case if events occur. We strive to be very solution oriented.

  • "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
  •     -Arthur C. Clarke

Dewey's studies of international wars were also sited in Houston's book, as they often come at the peak years of solar cycles, while civil wars often come at the trough years. Dewey said that solar eruptions could be construed as a cause for conflict, insanity, mental illness and suicides. In 2007 the Foundation published projections for the Iraq War that forecast the projected US soldier and Iraqi civilian deaths. The original page is archived here.

Houston also predicted a paradigm shift. We would like to get ready for this paradigm. Areas of health care, security and environment will become market leaders in this new era and there will be a potential for millions of new businesses to be formed. We believe that we can help that because he said that it has to do with the cybernetic revolution, which is computers, where we could foresee putting tens of thousands of people to work helping us to gather data for the data warehouse on which the Foundation of the future needs to build.

Additionally we will be discussing the future of the Foundation. The object of Project Firebird is not only to resurrect the Foundation's works but to digitize it and apply it to the planet. Our founder, Edward R. Dewey, anticipated a resurgence of his work in this decade in the book "Cycles," written in 1991. He pointed this out through his son, and we are experiencing that resurgence now, and rightly so. Dewey was able to predict that because cycles, after all, is the science of prediction. It should not surprise us that this was in his ability to see.

Prediction is big business still today. There are programs out on the market such as SPSS. Predictive analytics is a major field now. Businesses are spending hundreds of millions to predict the next big thing, the next color fashion, the next hit song, where people will be spending their money next year, next month, the next three to five years.

The future of the Foundation is assured because the data we are accumulating and the publications we are constructing feed the ever present interest in the future. That is what the Foundation for the Study of Cycles is about, discovering the future. So with that, we invite you to join us and enjoy this exciting adventure.

We also see a potential for a practical application of cycles. For example, in our initial studies that we have on airplane crashes, we have noticed a very strong, head above shoulders, 64 day cycle of fatalities in airplane disasters. This doesn't mean, of course, that every 64 days there is a major plane crash. It means that increased plane crashes occur in intervals that may be a multiple of 64 days, and charts show a 64 day cycle peaking when there was a loss of life, whether it be many lives or just one. However, in studying the events surrounding these crashes, it is easily noted that these crashes were only fatal on these 64 day periods when the pilots or responsible parties refused to take in account the element of weather. For example, crashes resulted when planes flew into a lightning storm, or tried to land on poorly lit runways in bad weather. If we could get the 64 day cycle understood and generally accepted as a cycle of airplane crashes, we could give alerts that a 64 day cycle was coming up on a given date, and according to our studies the next likelihood of a plane crash would, for example, be in the North Atlantic. It is a warning like a weather forecast, that on that 64th day, if airplanes are going into a certain area, and if they are encountering weather, they are sailing right into the storm from which they could potentially be diverted to avoid disaster.

A major theme of this conference is to introduce the new "Techsignal Academia" which we are unveiling for the academic world. Academia is designed to teach academics the potential of studying cycles in a particular field. We have identified cycles in all areas of phenomena. In the information you will have to take home with you are more than 4,000 cycles that have been discovered, with who discovered them, as well as when and where it was published.

The second side of Project Academia is to gather and upload the world's data. Data is the lifeblood of the Foundation. It is only from data that we identify and organize the discovery of cycles. Therefore we are moving now toward what you might call the "Foundation for the Discovery of Cycles," not just the study, but the discovery of cycles. An interesting aspect of cycles is Dewey's work on cycle synchronies and when cycles we find cluster. If cycles we identify that clusters in one area also cluster in another area then we can count the cycles in clusters that are synchronized and those that cluster sequentially. This is the timing of cycle synchronies.

This will enable people in academics, colleges, universities, any study, any school using our science and mathematics to easily indentify different phenomena ranging from the study of birds, to the study of weather, to the study of earthquakes, volcanoes, and so forth. Not just major earthshaking events, but simple things can be studied such as the changes in temperature over a period of several weeks in a given city, or the changes in lake levels for the farmers. There are a lot of practical applications for cycles, one of which would be to help farmers in producing their crops. For example, one of our members has commissioned our organization to build cycles around weather conditions in the Des Moines, Iowa area. We are currently working on that project.

One of the uses of cycles, is to build the software itself into a ROM chip that will enable analysis to be integrated into control programs. One could predict changes in building temperatures, for example, to interface with thermostats. We have been able to demonstrate 70 to 80 percent accuracy in predicting temperature changes up to 24 to 36 hours in advance. The thermostats could drive the heating, ventilation and air conditioning units to change them in advance resulting in considerable savings. The same could be done with airplane guidance systems that would have a ROM chip that could warn of cyclic hot spots. The same thing could be done with heart patients with di-systolic and systolic irregularities being predicted up to 36 hours in advance with remarkable accuracy.

We will also talk about some other interesting applications for cycles. Some applications may even seem almost like science fiction as we look forward with our studies. Several of them will be discussed by our resident PhD and astrophysicist, Dr. Niels (Duke) Winsor, who will detail a potential deflecting device that would have the possibility to deflect Near Earth Objects (NEOs) depending on their location and their penetration of Earth's atmosphere. Dr. Winsor specializes in modeling fluid mechanics and we look forward to using many of his theories here at the Foundation.

Another idea we've had here is the possibility of helping NASA and the space administrations of other countries in identifying NEOs by observing the disturbances in cycles which could be occasioned by the disturbances and anomalies in gravitational fields of incoming NEO's. This is a fairly abstract concept and bears explanation and we will be discussing that more as we move into the seminar as well as the creation of a virtual telescope.

Global warming and all the ongoing controversial areas of inquiry on the planet are what we want to put in the context of cycles. An eventual purpose of the seminar is to create a book that will come out of the series that will be a statement of the Foundation in its current state with Project Firebird, to describe where we are headed, and why we are here. We will examine the founders of the Foundation for the Study of Cycles and look at who they were with in-depth biographies. Our  founder, Edward R. Dewey, would surely want us to give credit to the people who helped him along the way. These include many statesmen, heads of business, heads of government and we will be telling their story to answer: who they were, what was their vision, why did they agree to be on the board to start the Foundation, and if they were on the board now what would they want us to be do.

We are pursuing the concepts explored by German scientist, Chladni, who transformed sound into shapes by developing "Chladni Plates" that respond to sound vibrations to reshape the sand into remarkable patterns. Some of the sound and visions that cyclic vibrations can produce may somehow be tied to the new physics of the production of the physical universe.

Cycles and vibration theory could play a major part in the physics string theory or the unified field theory also known as "the theory of everything." Exploring the concept of vibrations leads us to the works of Napoleon Hill whose book, "Think and Grow Rich: The Master Key to Riches," explains and regards thoughts as things. This work was influential in the expansion of the Foundation.
